Multi-talented singer/songwriter and gifted pianist Benedict Cork has dropped the second single from his highly anticipated ‘Piano Tapes’ EP, which will be available to stream and purchase later this year.

Following the release of his debut single ‘Ghost’, the London-based artist delivers yet another stunning composition, ‘Mama Said’, which takes the listener on an emotional journey throughout its 4-minute duration. Recorded live at Red Gate Recorders in Los Angeles, Benedict seizes the opportunity to display his remarkable talent, performing a stripped back rendition of his latest creation on a beautiful grand piano.
Speaking on the lyrics and meaning behind ‘Mama Said’, Benedict explains “The lyrics of Mama Said came from advice my mum gave me when I went through a super sad break up last year. I’d been with someone for three years and we just fell out of love, which I think is the saddest kind of break up because there’s nothing to blame. It was my first love and I didn’t really know how to deal with it all. It’s one of the first songs I wrote when I moved to Stockholm. I moved there on my own, I didn’t have any friends there and it gave me loads of time to reflect on the break up and get used to being alone again. I made the first draft there and actually finished writing the song in my parent’s house - on the piano I grew up learning to play - just before I headed out to LA in February.”
2018 is shaping up to be a promising year for Benedict Cork, who has made it his business to indent his name on the musical sphere.
