When Maarten met his best friend and musical partner Paul Baümer as a teenager, the pair clicked instantly through mutual love for creating house music. Over the next decade, Maarten & Paul merged their musical talents forming ‘Bingo Players.’ Their instantly recognizable songs quickly began to resonate with EDM crowds across the globe due to their memorable lyrical hooks and melodies with powerful, driving beats. In 2011, “Cry (Just A Little)” jumped into the Beatport charts as their breakout hit. In between slots at some of the biggest festivals inc. Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland and Coachella, the duo created their own label, Hysteria. They released singles by Carl Tricks, MAKJ, and Henry Fong as well as their own original productions. In 2013, “Get Up (Rattle)” (ft. Far East Movement) charted in the Top 10 in numerous markets around the world, reaching the coveted #1 spot in the UK and #5 in the U.S dance charts. In 2013, at the height of their success, Paul suddenly fell ill. Just a few months later, and to the shock of the world, he tragically passed away. Maarten continues to fly the “Bingo Players Flag” in honor of Paul’s last wishes, and has since seen great support from the entire EDM community. Bingo Players’ latest release ‘Knock You Out’ – one of the last songs that Maarten and Paul made together – is currently climbing up charts worldwide.
