Jakob Liedholm

Few people can lay claim to the early success that has already come calling for Swedish wunderkid Jakob Liedholm. At the tender age of 16 the talented young DJ and producer has already garnered support from the most important players in the dance music world; his productions a regular feature in the radio shows of time honoured acts Tiesto and Nicky Romero. Hailing from Helsingborg, Southern Sweden, Jakob first began producing aged just 11. Inspired by fellow compatriots Alesso and Avicii, he has spent the last year in the studio, honing his craft and developing his own unique blend of progressive house.  Early 2012 saw him lend his hand to reworks for Gotye's ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ and Fun's ‘Some Nights’, demonstrating his ability to create seamless transitions between the world of dance and popular/indie music. Jakob’s talent in the studio however extends way beyond the realm of remixing, as his recent stream of personal tracks attests. In July 2012, ‘Swede Love’ premiered on Pete Tong’s Radio One show and then a second debut for his remix of Nause ‘Hungry Hearts’ followed hot on its heels in November. With remixes for Fenech Soler ‘Magnetic’, Foxes ‘Youth’ and a track that has been over a year in the making (testament to the levels of perfectionism we can expect from the young sensation) all set to drop in 2013 it’s hard to believe the world has only just seen the beginning of Jakob Liedholm.
